FAISALABAD, Nov 04 (APP): The 4th All Pakistan Inter-University Women Boxing Championship has commenced at The University of Faisalabad (TUF) under the auspices of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan.
The event, spanning from November 04 to 06, is being held at university’s Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Ground and features spirited participation from 16 leading universities across the country.
The internationally acclaimed boxer Madam Ayesha Mumtaz graced the opening ceremony as chief guest while TUF Rector Prof Dr. Amanullah Malik and Registrar Dr. Zahida Maqbool, along with directors of sports, managers, and coaches from the participating universities, were also present on the occasion.
According to the official spokesman of District Government Faisalabad, the championship has drawn women boxers from prominent institutions including University of the Punjab Lahore, University of Sargodha, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Superior University Lahore, Government College University (GCU) Lahore, GCU Faisalabad, Forman Christian College Lahore, Fatima Jinnah Women University Lahore, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Iqra University Karachi, University of Lahore, University of Management and Technology Lahore, Government College Women University Faisalabad, Lahore College for Women University, and The University of Faisalabad.
Earlier, the event opened with a colorful ceremony that featured the national anthem, parade of participating teams and a captivating gymnastics and martial arts performance by the talented TUF students.
