LAHORE, Jan 12 (APP):A six-member International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation Sunday visited Gaddafi Stadium Lahore to assess venue’s readiness for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, to be hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
The delegation comprised of ICC officials, broadcasters, and logistics personnel and it reviewed facilities including the media boxes, dressing rooms, and enclosures at the venue.
The visit will provide the delegation with the first hand information on the state of affairs at the venues in Pakistan. It reviewed PCB’s readiness for the ICC event.
PCB’s Director International Cricket Usman Wahla briefed the delegation on the ongoing upgradation work at the stadium.
The Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi recently claimed that the things were in place for the the inauguration of the upgradation work on January 25.
The PCB has further relocated the tri-nation ODI series featuring South Africa and New Zealand to the Gaddafi stadium Lahore and NBP stadium Karachi to further satisfy the ICC on the preparedness for the mega event.
The tri-series matches will also help PCB put the upgradation work to the litmus test and see whether there are some shortcomings so that these may be rectified prior to the start of the ICC Champions Trophy on Februay 19.
The ICC delegation has already visited NBP stadium, Karachi and Rawalpindi stadium, Rawalpindi.
