Husnain becomes Pakistan’s newest White Badge Tennis Umpire

ISLAMABAD, Jun 13 (APP): Husnain Mehmood, Pakistan’s Green Badge Tennis Umpire who had proceeded to Vietnam to take part in ITF Level 2 Officiating School, Tay Ninh from June to 13, has successfully completed the course in his first attempt, and has thus qualified as an ITF White Badge Chair Umpire, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said on Monday.

It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the PTF will now have two qualified White Badge Chair Umpires. Pakistan was awarded the previous White Badge some 23 years ago, a PTF statement said.

Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF has congratulated Husnain on the achievement.
It is a matter of immense pleasure and satisfaction that PTF has been able to achieve a breakthrough in this segment after a very long time, he said.

He also complimented Shahzad Akhtar Alvi, the only other authorized ITF WB Umpire and Head of Officiating at the PTF, for having performed his duties in the country and overseas single-handedly over the years.

He said that tennis officiating was an lucrative career and further efforts would be made to increase the number of qualified White Badge Chair Umpires, which would greatly facilitate the associations and organizers for the better conduct of the national and international tournaments.

He welcomed Husnain Mehmood to the fold of select ITF qualified Officiating Members and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
