ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP):Prime Minister Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan on Thursday said that the government is working tirelessly to provide youth with the best facilities in every field.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday along with cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi and Atif Rana of Lahore Qalandars, Rana Mashhood said, Pakistan has achieved heights in various sports and PSL’s success has been praised all over the world.
The Prime Minister’s focus is Pakistan’s youth and the government is working day and night to provide youth’s with best facilities in every field, he said.
On the occasion, the PM’s Cricket Talent Hunt announcement also took place while a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed with Lahore Qalandars for the talent hunt program.
Under this program, the youth of Pakistan will be given the opportunity to showcase their skills. He said the talent hunt program will be launched from Balochistan from June 27 to 30, where the youth of Balochistan will be given the opportunity to come forward in the field of sports.
He said after Balochistan the action will shift to Sindh from July 2 to 18, from July 21 to August 11 in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, August 29 and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Frontier Regions from September 1 to September 14, youth will be given opportunities to showcase their skills.
He said that under the Talent Hunt program, selected players will be included in the player development program. Besides cricket other sports talent hunt programs will also begin and the government will fund the player development separately, all superstars will be present on talent hunt venues.
Rana Mashhood said that the PSL Trophy is now going to the UK and the United States. We want to tell the world that we are a peaceful nation and love peace, he said.
He was of the view that E-sports will also begin soon in the country. The budget of SAFF Games and Arshad Nadeem Academy has been kept, 11 sports academies will be mobilized this year.
On the occasion, PSL franchise Lahore Qalandar, Rana Atif, said that Shaheen Shah Afridi won the trophies in three of the four season which is an honor for us.
He said that the PSL match was also witnessed by Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker at our request and was very much appreciated. The credit goes to the Pakistan Army on the successful holding of the PSL, due to proper security arrangements, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi said that the talent hunt program launched by the Prime Minister of Pakistan is a very good initiative which will bring talent forward.
He said that every good move should be supported and sports should be highlighted. He said that the agreement between the Prime Minister’s Youth Program and the Lahore Qalandars will bring good players to fore.
