ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday held meeting with Pakistan’s renowned fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi to discuss the promotion of sports and measures to nurture young talent in the province.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champion League, Sohail Kundi, was also present during the meeting.
The two sides exchanged views on promoting sports activities across the province and creating opportunities for young athletes to showcase their talent. They also reviewed various proposals regarding the establishment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champion League.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was home to immense sporting talent and stressed the need to provide greater opportunities for the province’s youth to excel.
He said the promotion of sports not only guided young people towards positive activities but also projected a positive image of the province.
Faisal Karim Kundi expressed confidence that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champion League would help identify local talent and enable promising players to prove their abilities at national and international levels.
Shaheen Shah Afridi appreciated the Governor’s keen interest in promoting cricket and other sports in the province, saying that the provision of quality facilities and competitive platforms for young players would help Pakistan produce outstanding athletes in the future.
