Frontier Foundation, Falcon advance in Inter-Club Cricket

PESHAWAR, Oct 26 (APP): Frontier Foundation and Falcon club advanced to
next round after registering victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Peshawar District Inter-Club Cricket Championship being played at different venues on Monday.
In the first match played at Gymkhana ground, Frontier Foundation club
beat Umarabad Shaheen club. Umarabad Shaheen club won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up only 77 runs in the allotted 25 overs. Shafi and Soukat scored 17 and 16 runs respectively, none of the other batsmen could stand in front of excellent bowling attack by Frontier Foundation club bowlers.
For Frontier Foundation club Naveed Khan and Fayyaz claimed four wickets
each while Janisar got two wickets.
In reply, Frontier Foundation chased the target for the loss of two
wickets and won the match by eight wickets. Abid Raza smashed 54 runs and Muntazir Shah scored 24 runs. For Umarabad Shaheen club Shafi Ullah took two wickets.
In the second match played at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium, Falcon club
defeated Khyber Stars club. Khyber Stars won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 116 runs. Zia Afridi smshed 50 runs, Wisal scored 35 runs. For Falcon club Arsalan got four wickets while Junaid took three wickets.
In reply, Falcon club chased the target for the loss of six wickets.
Arsalan scored 46 runs, Khadam made 22 runs.
In the third match played at University Campus ground, Peshawar Green
defeated Union club by eight wickets. Union club while batting first scored 72 runs and in reply Peshawar Green chased the target for the loss of two wickets.
