KARACHI, June 02 (APP): Four cueists Abu Saim, Babar Masih, Sohail Shehzad and Asjad Iqbal emerged victorious in quarter-finals and will compete in semi-finals in Jubilee Insurance 2nd Ranking Snooker Championship 2016 on Thursday.
Fierce battle continued between Saim and Ian Mark John where Saim faced bitter resistance before winning 5-4 against his rival with frames scores of 13-93, 116-17, 1-68, 70-37, 0-63, 75-39, 80-0, 19-72, 76-33. Besides, Saim chalked up the highest break of 100 in the 2nd frame.
Babar Masih overpowered Muhammad Asif Toba 5-0 with facing much resistance with frames scores of 74-43, 89-0, 71-15, 75-39, 66-23. He also compiled break of
89 and 59.
Sohail Shehzad and Shahid Aftab gave each other tough time in the quarter and at last, Shehzad outwitted against Aftab by 5-4 with scores frames of 36-83, 18-59, 33-67, 30-66, 69-30, 63-22, 79-21, 69-26, 69-43.
Asjad Iqbal outplayed against his rival Muhammad Sajjad by 5-2 with frames scores of 10-60, 65-16, 54-48, 73-11, 28-62, 68-28, 68-33.
Semi-finals would be held on Friday at 9:00 am on the basis of the best of 9 frames.
It would be held between Abu Saim V Babar Masih and Sohail Shehzad V Asjad Iqbal.
