Former Pakistan cricket greats to be seen in action in New York on Saturday

ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (APP): Three former Pakistan cricket greats
will be seen in action on Saturday in the first match of Cricket All
Stars Series at Citi Field, New York.
Global cricket icons Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne will
be captaining the star-studded lineups of renowned cricket players
from around the world in the inaugural “Cricket All-Star Series,”
a three-game T20 series in New York City, Houston and Los Angeles.
Pakistan’s former captain Wasim Akram and off-spinner Saqlain
Mushtaq are part of legendary Shane Warne’s team, while former fast
bowler Shoaib Akhtar will by playing from Tendulkar’s team.
The format will be T20, a much shorter and boisterous form
of cricket with the games taking around three hours instead of
multiple days. Tendulkar’s “Master Blasters” and “Warne’s Warriors”
will feature some of the best players to ever play cricket hailing
from eight different countries.
While the first 26 players were drawn by lots, Shoaib Akhtar’s
status was decided by a coin flip. Warne called heads, but the coin
came up tails, drawing a big sigh of relief from Tendulkar, according
to information received here on Friday.
