Former cricketers criticize Pakistan team’s approach in T20 series

ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (APP): Former cricketers have criticized Pakistan team approach in the T20 series against England saying that they were unable to understand as to which direction the team is moving.
England defeated Pakistan in the super over to complete the Twenty20 series whitewash on late Thursday in Sharjah.Instead of relying on fast bowlers Pakistan team should have gone into the series with spinners, former fast bowler Sarfaraz Nawaz said in his post match comments. He said that England utilized spinners in the series and there plan was
successful as their spinners played a key role in team win but Pakistan, who had very good spinners went into the series with pacers.
Former batsman Ijaz Ahmed said it was incomprehensible that why Pakistan
did not used spinners on slow turning tracks. Pakistan went into the series with only one spinner (Shahid Afridi). Even Shoaib Malik, who can bowl very well on slow wickets was not used properly. Absence of spinners caused our team dearly in the series, he added.
He said Pakistan players fitness level and running between the
wickets was very poor and believed that the main reason for that was poor domestic infrastructure. In the past our A and under 19 teams used to have frequent foreign tours but for the last three to four years these tour have not happened. This I think is another major cause of Pakistan’s poor performance against best world sides, he said.
Former captain Aamir Sohail expressed his disappointment the way
Pakistan lost the last T20 match against England. He was of the view that the choice of batsmen for Super Over was inappropriate saying, Even kids know who to play an eliminator.
