FIH to hold Hockey World Cup 2026 draw on Tuesday

The official draw ceremony for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 will be held on Tuesday in Amsterdam, where the 32 qualified teams will learn their opponents for the group stage of the prestigious tournament.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 16 (APP):The official draw ceremony for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 will be held on Tuesday in Amsterdam, where the 32 qualified teams will learn their opponents for the group stage of the prestigious tournament.

The ceremony will take place at the iconic Wagener Stadium at 3:00 pm CET and will determine the composition of the four pools of four teams each in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

The upcoming World Cup will be jointly hosted by Netherlands and Belgium from August 15 to 30, 2026, with matches scheduled to be played in Amsterdam and Wavre.

According to the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the draw ceremony will be attended by FIH President Tayyab Ikram, FIH Vice-President and EuroHockey President Marcos Hofman, FIH Executive Board member Erik Cornelissen, Dutch Hockey Federation President Erik Klein Nagelvoort and Belgian Hockey Federation President Patrick Keusters, along with head coaches, team captains and former international hockey stars.

The event will also be live-streamed on the digital platform Watch.Hockey for fans around the world.

A total of 16 teams in each gender category have qualified for the World Cup following two weeks of intense action in the qualifying tournaments.

The qualified women’s teams include Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Argentina, USA, Spain, New Zealand, China, South Africa, Chile, Australia, Ireland, Japan, England, India and Scotland.

In the men’s competition, Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, Spain, Argentina, Germany, New Zealand, India, South Africa, England, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia, Ireland, France and Wales have secured their places.
