FAISALABAD, Nov 11 (APP):Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) basketball team showcased outstanding performance and won the 50th All-WAPDA Inter-Unit Basketball Tournament by defeating the Hydel team in a thrilling final match.
FESCO spokesman said here on Tuesday that the tournament featured strong participation from the teams of FESCO (Faisalabad), GEPCO (Gujranwala), LESCO (Lahore), MEPCO (Multan), the National Grid Station Company (NGC), and Hydel.
He said that in the final match, FESCO displayed remarkable teamwork and determination, overcoming Hydel to secure the first position while Hydel, GEPCO, LESCO, NGC and MEPCO stood second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
The victory was celebrated as a reflection of FESCO’s growing commitment to promote sportsmanship and employee engagement across its organization, he added.
He said that FESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Muhammad Aamir, President of FESCO Sports Association Farrukh Aftab, General Secretary Rana Afzal, Basketball Team Manager Mahmood Ahmad and Sports Officer Muhammad Sajid congratulated the FESCO team on their achievement and described the win as the result of exceptional teamwork, dedication and sporting spirit.
They expressed pride in the players’ efforts and hoped that other FESCO teams would continue the same winning momentum in future competitions to bring further honor to FESCO and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, FESCO Chief Engineer Muhammad Aamir commended the athletes’ commitment and said that the victory demonstrated the immense potential within the organization.
He said that with proper guidance, patronage and opportunities, FESCO’s talented players can excel in every arena.
He also extended congratulations to the FESCO Sports Association and assured continued support and facilities for all athletes.
At the closing ceremony, General Manager of WAPDA Sports Board Imdadullah Memon presented championship trophy and other prizes to the victorious FESCO basketball team.
On this occasion, Team Manager Mahmood Ahmad and Sports Officer Muhammad Sajid appreciated the efforts of the assistant manager and coaches for their outstanding contribution. They said that the team would continue to maintain this performance streak, aiming for greater success at national and international levels.
