PESHAWAR, Jul 29 (APP): Director General (DG) Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tashfeen Haider warmly welcomed athletes of the province at Peshawar Sports Complex on their return from Uzbekistan, where they won gold medals at the WASKF All-Style Karate Open Asian Championship held in Tashkent.
A special reception ceremony was organized in honour of the medal-winning athletes on Tuesday. During the ceremony the DG Sports adorned them with garlands and commended their outstanding performance.
Speaking on the occasion, he praised the athletes’ dedication and affirmed the department’s continued support for their growth and success.
He also announced that the athletes would soon be rewarded with special incentives in recognition of their achievements.
The gold medalists included Muhammad Salman (50kg), Saad Shah (55kg), and Murad Khan (60kg), all representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in their respective weight categories.
The event was attended by Director Development Munir Abbas, Pride of Performance recipient Khalid Noor, Assistant Director Accounts Shah Faisal, Director Sports Operations Jamshed Baloch, Director Establishment Nematullah Marwat, Chief Coach Shafqatullah Khan, Administrator Yousaf Afridi and other dignitaries.
DG Sports Tashfeen Haider expressed confidence in the athletes’ potential, stating that with consistent hard work and institutional support, these young champions will continue to elevate Pakistan’s image on the global stage. APP/aqk
