RAWALPINDI, Jul 09 (APP): Trails for Chief Minister Punjab Championship for Rawalpindi Division team are set to be held on July 12 at the Rawal Park Cricket Ground on Rawal Road, featuring top leather-ball cricketers from six districts competing.
Divisional Sports Officer Rawalpindi Chaudhry Waheed Ahmed announced that a selection committee comprising representatives from the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Sports Department Directorate Lahore will oversee the process starting at 8:00 AM on Sunday.
Under the tournament guidelines, the squad composition allows four open-category players from across Pakistan with no age limit, along with three open-category players from within the division. The remainder of the squad must include seven under-23 players born on or after August 1, 2003, and two under-19 players born on or after August 1, 2007, all belonging to the respective division.
District Sports Officers from across the region including Shams Tauheed Abbasi (Rawalpindi), Naveed Baig (Attock), and Muhammad Tariq (Jhelum) have been formally directed to send their districts’ finest leather-ball players to the trials. Contestants are strictly required to bring their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) and Family Registration Certificates (FRC) for age and identity verification.
The selected divisional pool will undergo rigorous preparation to represent Rawalpindi Division in the upcoming inter-divisional Punjab-level championships.
