KARACHI, Mar 21 (APP):Karachi Police Chief Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Dr Ameer Sheikh on Thursday said Karachi was a cosmopolitan city and that’s why it host different events and return of cricket in Karachi has been possible because of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches held in the city.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with commendation certificates distribution for best performance in PSL security, he said that the security of 8 PSL matches was a huge challenge for Sindh Police.
Dr. Ameer Sheikh said that tensed situation at borders, limited time, terrorism threats, presence of international cricketers, presence of broadcasters of 21 countries, security of spectators and managing
traffic flow were among major challenges for the police.
“I am proud of my force, all of them from constables to officers performed their duties dedicatedly and with honesty”, said Karachi Police Chief.
The AIGP on the occasion distributed commendation certificates among all zonal Deputy IGPs (DIGPs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of districts and Traffic, CTD and Special Branch officers and
officials.
