LAHORE, Apr 22 (APP):A Friendly Baseball Series was played on Monday between Yousafzai Baseball Academy and FESCO at Yar Hussain Area, District Swabi, Khyber Pakhtonkhaw under the supervision of KP Baseball Association.
Sh. Mazhar Ahmad Secretary Pakistan Federation Baseball said
here that for the promotion and development of Baseball in Khyber Pakhtonkhaw and Newly Merge Areas, KP Baseball Association organized
a series to introduce the game among youth and to inspire the
youngsters to take up baseball as a sport.
The first match FESCO beat Yousafzai Green by 4 – 2. For FESCO
Asif Gujjar scored 2 runs, Asim and Mukarram scored 1 run each.
For Yousafzai Green Waseem and Abid scored 1 run each.
In the second match FESCO outplayed Yousafzai White by a huge
margin of 7 – 3. For FESCO Asim scored 2 runs, Mukarram, Azeem, Usman,
Asif Gujjar and Shabbir each scored 1 run. For Yousafzai White Kashif,
Ayaz and Aizaz added 1 run apiece.
FESCO beat Yousafzai KPK by 1 – 0 in the third match after receiving match winning run from Abid Asif Gujjar from FESCO was declared best player of the series.
Syed Fakahr Ali Shah President, PFB was the Chief Guest on the Closing Ceremony and Fakhar Amir Kamzi Legal Advisor PPBF was the guest of honor. Wisal Khan, Chairman Yousafzai Baseball Academy/Vice President PFB welcomed the guests. After the Syed Fakahr Ali Shah distributed the trophies and prizes among the players winners.
Speaking on the occasion President PFB said that it is an amazing experience to observe the growing potential of the KP youth in baseball
as the ever-increasing support and holistic vision of Shaukat Javed Chairman, PBF are enabling us to visit every nook and corner of the
country for the promotion of baseball with an agenda of youth development and women empowerment.
He said a good number of players from KP will be included in
Pakistan Baseball National team in due course of time on merit.
