Ajmal likely to get a show cause notice on Friday

ISLAMABAD, Nov 5 (APP): Out of favor off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is likely
to be issued a show cause notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday for criticizing the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) policy on bowlers with suspect bowling actions.
Talking to APP, A PCB official said Ajmal might get the notice on
Friday for his comments.
“The PCB is going through his comments and will then issue the notice
to him,” he said.He said PCB has to see what violation of the code of conduct Ajmal
has made as he is a centrally contracted player of the board.
In an interview to a private sports channel Ajmal criticized ICC for
having double standards in enforcing its rules on bowling actions. He
questioned the ICC that why only the off-spinners are being targeted why not
the other bowlers (fast bowlers, left arm spinners and leg-spinners or fast
bowlers). He had said that if tests were carried out there would be many other
bowlers whose bowling actions would exceed the 15 degrees extension limit.
“There are still many bowlers who are violating rules but the ICC is not
seeing them,” he said.
Ajmal said if Harbhajan Singh might be put in a proper bowling
assessment test then he will exceed the 15 degrees limit.
