AFC fact-finding committee to visit Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, March 26 (APP):Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Tuesday said a fact-finding committee of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will be visiting Pakistan to verify the position of the national body and its working.
Addressing a press conference here at a local hotel, PFF President Eng. Syed Ashfaq Hussain along with vice-presidents Member National Assembly (MNA) Malik Muhammad Amer Doghar and Syed Zahir Ali Shah said all member associations will be participating in the AFC meeting to be held in Malaysia on April 3 and PFF’s position will also be discussed in the agenda.
“The date of the AFC’s fact-finding committee will also be finalized in the meeting and hopefully after the committee’s visit to Pakistan all matters PFF related matters will be sorted out,” he said.
“Former footballer Sheikh Sidique is also be nominated as the PFF secretary in the PFF congress meeting,” he said and added many other drastic decisions were made in the meeting.
He said when we took over PFF, we had Rs 175 million funds in its accounts which we fixed deposited in banks and the interest we receive through the money is being used for the development of football.
Responding to a question, he said the Senate Committee constituted for the Promotion and Development of Football has no influence on PFF and we are working as an independent body.
“Chairman Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani who is heading the committee is a personal friend and is doing all-out efforts for the game’s promotion,” he said.
To another question, he said Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) has also summoned the previous PFF office bearers on April 20 to investigate on PFF matters.
Speaking on the occasion, Amer Doghar said the regional associations’ elections will take place after 4 to 5 months. “Associations of Sindh and Balochistan had differences with us but we have sorted out ways to work together for the betterment of football.
“Many committees were also formed in the congress meeting and the annual football activities calendar and the road map was also finalized,” he said.
He said we are committed to promote football from the grass-root level and we will be holding an Inter City Tournament in April.
