PESHAWAR, Sep 17 (APP):PCB Abdul Hafiz Kardar Inter-School Cricket Championship got under way here at
Gymkhana ground on Monday.
President Peshawar District Cricket Association Asghar Ali Khan was the chief guest on this
occasion. Officials of the various schools, players and spectators were also
present.
Speaking on this occasion,
Asghar Ali Khan termed the tournament a key for bringing new faces to main
stream of talent. He said such tournament would also provide ample
opportunities to the players of Under-16 to come up and show their hidden
talent. He appreciated the Pakistan Cricket Board for holding Abdul Hafiz
Kardar Inter-School Cricket Tournament in which every school could field their respective
team.
He said school cricket always played a key role in finding out new talent. In the first match Peshawar
Cambridge defeated Govt High School Nahaqi and moved to the next round. Two
matches would be played every day before deciding the quarter-finals and
semi-finals line-up.
