KARACHI, Oct 26 (APP):The 3rd Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Squash Championship 2025 will formally commence from October 29, which will continue till November 2, at Pakistan Navy (PN) Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex.
The soft opening ceremony of the championship would be held on October 27.
Addressing a press briefing here on Sunday, Tournament Director Commodore Mudassar Khurshid SI(M) said that the purpose of the event was to provide chance to local squash players to showcase their talent.
He said that in all 26 matches would be played under the championship and 31 male and 16 female Squash players would be its part.
Khurshid said that the Pakistan Navy was hosting once again the Squash championship, which would feature national-level competitions with a total prize money of Rs.2 million. He said that Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex was a state-of-the-art complex, which held national and international championships.
He said that the Schoolchildren would be invited to witness the championship as that was the age of dreams and planings, which decided the future direction.
The Tournament Director emphasized that Pakistan Navy had always played a leading role in the promotion and development of squash in the country. He also revealed that the 16th CNS International Squash Championship 2026 was being planned, which would be held in September or October next year.
This year’s 3rd CNS championship included 31 players in the Men’s Category, featuring Top Seed: Nasir Iqbal (WAPDA), 2nd Seed: Tayyab Aslam (SNGPL), 3rd Seed: Abdullah Nawaz (PAF), and 4th Seed: Muhammad Ammad (PAF). In the Women’s Category, a 16-player draw will compete, led by Top Seed: Sana Bahadur (Pakistan Army), 2nd Seed: Mariam Malik (Army ), 3rd Seed: Anam Aziz (Sindh), and 4th Seed: Sameera Shahid (Sindh).
The finals would be played on November 2 at the same venue. Tournament Referee Muhammad Naveed Alam also shared details about the seeding and draws during the press briefing.
Tournament Secretary Lt Commander Muhammad Umar PN, President Organizing Committee Captain Ashar Mehmood PN, Tournament Referee Muhammad Naveed Alam and Member Management Committee Lt Cdr M Shujaat Kamal PN were also present on the occasion.
