ISLAMABAD, Jun 15 (APP): A total number of 23 matches were played on the first day of the 2nd PTF Development Series Junior National Ranking Tennis tournament-2021 here at the PTF Complex.
The players seemed excited to compete with each other in different categories after a long time due to the COVID-19 situation. It is pertinent to mention that the ITF COVID-19 SOPs were observed and no spectators were allowed to witness the matches as per government policy.
Salim Saifullah Khan, President Pakistan Tennis Federation, congratulated the young players and wished them good luck in the matches. He also advised them to adhere to the COVID-19 SOPs to avoid any untoward incident.
Boy’s Singles 18 & Under (1st Round): M. Hamza Aasim beat Hamza Al Zuhair 6-0,6-0, Zaeem Ghafoor beat Inam Qadir 5-7,6-3,6-3 ,Mustansair Ali Khan beat Muhammad Ali 4-6,6-3,6-2 ,M. Talha Khan beat Hamza Rehmat 6-0,6-1 ,Abdul Hanan Khan beat Faizan Shahid 7-5,6-2 ,Kashan Tariq beat Abdullah Wasif 6-2,6-2 ,Kamran Khan beat Mamoon Ilyas 6-0,6-0.
Girl’s Singles 18 & Under (1st Round): Saher Aleem beat Amara Khan 6-0,6-1,Farah Shah Khan beat Sadia Qazi 6-0,6-4, Amna Ali Qayum beat Zahra Khan 6-0,6-0.
Boy’s Singles 16 & Under (1st Round): Abdul Hanan Khan beat Ali Zain 6-1,6-1, Kamran Khan beat Kashan Tariq 6-3,6-1, Ibrahim Ashraf beat Inam Qadir 6-4,6-3, Mamoon Ilyas beat Mustansir Ali Khan 7-5,6-1.
Boy’s Singles 14 & Under (1st Round): Ibrahim Ashraf beat Abdullah 4-2,4-2, Ali Zain beat Syed Hamza Hussain 4-0,4-0, Abdul Basit beat Nabeel Ali Qayum 4-0,4-2, M. Haziq Aasim beat Eshaan Ali 4-0,4-0,M. Talha Khan beat Eesa Fahd 4-0,4-1.
