200 boys, 50 girls to be selected in trials: Saeed Ajmal

FAISALABAD, Dec 20 (APP): Crickter Saeed Ajmal on Sunday said that 200 boys and 50 girls would be selected during the trials of Telent Hunt Program.

Talking to media at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad, where the trials of male and female players were in-progress in U-19 and U-15 categories for the bowlers (fast & spin), batsmen and whicker keepers, he said, Talent Hunt Program provides opportunity to player at grassroot level to show their talent and to be groomed.

He said the selected players would be provided coaching, practice and other technical facilities to shine their talent under the qualified professionals.

On a query regarding the issues of cricket academy and its current status, he replied, “I am very hopeful that the issue of cricket academy will soon be resolved. I urged chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif  that he should take serious notice of the matter because future of these selected youngsters depends on academic facilities”, he said.

“I think delay in the reopening of academy will not be in favour any one, only cricket will suffer”, he said.

He also said if academy would not be reopened, there are many other options to get our rights.

“We can go for protest, sit-in and litigation”, he added.
