LAHORE, Mar 27 (APP):Punjab will take on Balochistan in the final of the first National Blind Baseball Championship on Thursday in Multan.
Both the teams reached the final after according comfortable victories against their respective rivals. Sindh will clash Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in a classification match for the third place.
The Blind Baseball Association of Pakistan, with the collaboration of Muhammad Bin Qasim Blind Welfare Complex and District Administration Multan, is organising the premier baseball event for passionate players, who have impaired sight.
Following are the results of the matches, Game 1; Punjab beat KP 10-5, Game 2; Balochistan beat Sindh 8-7, Game 3, Sindh beat Islamabad 8-3, Game 4; KP beat Islamabad, 8-3, Game 5; Islamabad beat Balochistan 5-2, Game 6; Punjab beat Sindh 10-5, Game 7; Balochistan beat KP 7-6, Game 8; Punjab beat Islamabad 8-6.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President Blind Baseball Association Pakistan/President Pakistan Federation Baseball after the matches said that in 2016 Pakistan Blind Baseball Team participated in baseball in the Blinds AIXBC in Brescia, Italy. The performance of Blind Baseball Players of Pakistan was good.
He said that after the successful participation of Pakistan Blind Team in Italy they introduced Blind Baseball in Pakistan and decided to organize first ever national blind baseball championship.
“We are in contact with World Blind Baseball and Pakistan Blind Baseball Team will soon participate in International Baseball Events abroad,” he added. Fakhar Shah will be the Chief Guest on the Closing Ceremony of the championship.
