World Blood Donor Day observed with ceremony, RBC team’s services lauded

SUKKUR, Jun 13 (APP): Like the rest of the world, World Blood Donor Day was observed in Sukkur with a dignified ceremony organized in collaboration with the Regional Blood Centre (RBC) Sukkur here on Saturday.
During the event, the special contributions of RBC team members Agha Asfand, Dr Qadir Muneer, Afzal Waseer and Umar Ramzan were prominently acknowledged and they were recognized as key contributors to the success of the welfare program.
Deputy Mayor Sukkur Dr Arshad Mughal, Commissioner-I Sukkur Naveed Mirani and Assistant Commissioner Sukkur City Sara Faraz attended the ceremony as chief guests. Among other dignitaries present were Dr Ahmed Mujtaba, Dr Abdul Aleem Koso, Dr Shahid Mirani and Abdul Jabbar Shaikh of Sukkur Blood Bank.
Guests were presented with traditional _ajraks_ during the ceremony, while the chief guest cut a cake to mark the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that blood donation is a great humanitarian service that serves as a means of saving countless precious lives. Therefore, promoting the trend of voluntary blood donation in society is a pressing need of the time.
They expressed resolve that the welfare mission would be further expanded with the support of RBC Sukkur, and efforts to raise public awareness would continue.
