KARACHI, May 27 (APP): The Meteorological Department, issuing a heat wave warning on Wednesday, forecast very hot and dry weather in most districts of Sindh during the next 24 hours and maximum temperatures may rise to 50 C in upper and central parts of the province.
Weather conditions in Karachi during the next 24 hours are expected to remain hot and humid with occasional winds blowing while maximum temperature may range between 35 to 37C. According to the Heatwave Early Warning Center of the PMD, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over most parts of the province till 31st May.
Under its influence, maximum temperature is likely to remain 04 to 06 C above normal and may rise to 47 to 50 C in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Khairpur and Naushoreferoz districts. Mercury may rise to 44 to 47 on Celsus scale in Tharparker, Badin, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhamad Khan, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Jamshoro and Sanghar districts till 31st May, it added.
Very hot weather conditions prevailed over most parts of the province on Wednesday. The highest maximum temperature of the day was recorded in Jacobabad where mercury soared to 49 C, while in Dadu, Sakrand, Shaheed Benazirabad and Mohenjodaro it touched 48 C mark. Maximum temperature in Sukkur was recorded as 46 C, Mithi 42 C, Hyderabad 41 C, Thatta 38 C and Karachi 36 C.
