Two-day festival concluded ceremony held in ShahNawaz Bhutto’s Library Larkana

LARKANA, Sep 20 (APP):Under the directives of Sindh Minister for Sports Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, the two-day “First Sindh Youth Opportunity Festival,” organized by the Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Department, concluded in Larkana.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Special Guest MPA Larkana Jamil Ahmed Soomro, Secretary of the Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Department Munawar Ali Maheesar, Director Sports Asad Ishaq, Deputy Director Syed Habibullah, Mayor Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur, renowned singer Saif Samijo, Chairman District Council Ijaz Ahmed Laghari, Laila Nisar, District Sports Officer Mahfooz Makani, along with other personalities and a large number of young people. During the festival, youth were given awareness about sports, education, modern technology, skills development, employment, and career opportunities, while various sports and other activities were also arranged.
Addressing the concluding ceremony held at Shah Nawaz Bhutto Memorial Library, MPA Jameel Ahmed Soomro said that our Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also young, and on the Chairman’s directives, youth across Sindh are being provided opportunities in their respective fields. He said that from this event too, such young people can come forward who will bring a good name to their country and nation. He said that youth are our asset, and to highlight their abilities, the series of such festivals will continue in the future as well.
Secretary Munawar Ali Maheesar, while addressing, said that the Sindh government is taking practical steps to provide new opportunities to youth. One hundred thousand young people will be provided Sindh Youth Cards, through which they will be connected to various facilities and opportunities.
He said that youth should remain in contact with the Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Department and take full advantage of available opportunities. The department will also organize youth festivals in various districts of Sindh in the future. He further said that the Sindh government’s Sindh Sports Policy 2026 has been formally implemented, under which e-sports, traditional, cultural, and modern sports will be promoted. Special steps will also be taken for the promotion of women, special athletes, and Pink Games.
He said that after the 18th Constitutional Amendment, the sports sector is a provincial responsibility, therefore, the Sindh government is taking comprehensive steps for the promotion of sports and for providing maximum opportunities to players. He said that special attention will be paid to creating new opportunities in sports, skills development, education, and employment for the youth of Larkana, so that local youth can utilize their abilities and move forward.
During the festival, trophies and cash prizes were distributed among teams and players who showed outstanding performance in various competitions, including cricket. The winning team was given Rs 50,000 and a trophy. During the concluding ceremony, a musical program was also held, in which renowned artists performed and received applause.
