TEDx SMIU brings inspiring voices & ideas to SMI university students

Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), through its Department of English, organized TEDx SMIU, bringing together distinguished speakers and young professionals to engage students with ideas on leadership, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, technology, social responsibility and personal development.

KARACHI, Oct 01 (APP): Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), through its Department of English, organized TEDx SMIU, bringing together distinguished speakers and young professionals to engage students with ideas on leadership, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, technology, social responsibility and personal development.
The event featured talks by prominent personalities, including Ali Ahmad Awan, Hamza Yaqoob Tabani and Miss Universe Pakistan 2023 Erica Robin, Junaid Iqbal, among others. The speakers shared their experiences and perspectives on developing a positive mindset, building effective relationships, embracing innovation and technology, and contributing to society through professional and community initiatives.
The discussions also highlighted the changing world of artificial intelligence and the opportunities and challenges it presents for young people.
The programme was attended by notable personalities, faculty members and students of SMIU, while speakers including Ali Tabish, Saqib Abro, Farhan Essa and Sabreen Hisbani also participated in the event. The diverse range of speakers provided students with an opportunity to hear directly from individuals associated with business, social service, leadership, media and other fields.
In his concluding remarks, Vice Chancellor SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai appreciated the Department of English for organizing TEDx SMIU and providing students with a platform to interact with accomplished personalities and explore diverse ideas.
He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in nurturing critical thinking, confidence, creativity, innovation and social responsibility among young people.
