SANGHAR, Jun 02 (APP):Police in Tando Adam claim to have made a significant breakthrough in a two-month-old robbery case involving Rs180 million, arresting two suspects and recovering Rs103.5 million in cash.
According to officials, the case pertains to the alleged theft from the ghee agency of Kamran Mughal, brother of trader leader Abdul Qadeer Mughal. Addressing a joint press conference, DSP Imtiaz Domki and City SHO Muhammad Hanif Mahar said that police conducted an operation during which an encounter took place, resulting in the arrest of one suspect, Muzammil Mirani, in injured condition, while his alleged accomplice, Faisal Niazi, was taken into custody.
Police officials stated that during interrogation, both suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the robbery and led investigators to the recovery of Rs103.5 million.
They further said the arrested men were habitual offenders with multiple criminal cases registered against them, including four cases at Tando Adam police station and several others in different jurisdictions. Their complete criminal record is being compiled.
The press conference was attended by trader leader Abdul Qadeer Mughal, representatives of the traders’ association Muhammad Iqbal Bhatti, Noshad Shaikh, Habib Bahlam, and others, who appreciated the police action and expressed satisfaction over the recovery.
On the occasion, local political and social figures Raja Farooq and Amjad Arain announced cash rewards of Rs125,000 and Rs50,000 respectively for the police team in recognition of their performance.
Responding to journalists’ questions, police officials said efforts were underway to curb crime and bring all perpetrators to justice.
