Sukkur Police Finalizes Muharram Security Plan, 9,699 Personnel Deployed

SUKKUR, Jun 17 (APP):Following directives from DIG Sukkur Range Nasir Aftab, a comprehensive security plan has been issued for Muharram-ul-Haram across the three districts of Sukkur Range including Sukkur, Khairpur Mirs, and Ghotki.
According to the security plan orders on Wednesday, a total of 837 mourning processions, 31 taziya processions, and 4,415 majalis will be held in Sukkur Range. For their security, 9,699 male and female police officers and personnel will perform duties. Additionally, 155 police mobiles and 142 motorcycles will be deployed for patrolling.
As per the issued orders, police officers and personnel will perform duties at 545 small and large Imambargahs and along mourning procession routes from the beginning to the end of Muharram-ul-Haram. Personnel of Shahbaz Rangers will also remain on duty at all times.
The SSPs of all three districts in Sukkur Range have been issued necessary instructions and orders for surveillance of 33 highly sensitive majalis, 33 mourning processions, and 07 taziya processions within Sukkur Range.
To deal with any untoward situation, anti-riot reserve platoons have been kept on standby at the Range Office as well as in all three districts of Sukkur Range. Expert snipers will be deployed on high-rise buildings along the routes of main mourning processions in all three districts of Sukkur Range.
A joint control room has been established at Sukkur Range Office, headed by SP Complaint & Investigation Asrar Brohi, along with the three districts of Sukkur Range, to monitor the entire law and order situation during Muharram. The control room, comprising Sukkur Range police staff, civil administration Sukkur Division, Shahbaz Rangers, Special Branch, and representatives of DIB branches from all three districts of Sukkur Range, will monitor the situation 24 hours a day.
Orders have also been issued to ensure CCTV camera monitoring and video recording of all majalis and mourning processions in the three districts of Sukkur Range. Traffic police officers and personnel will perform duties to maintain traffic flow.
Citizens have been urged to keep an eye on suspicious persons or activities in their surroundings and immediately inform the Madadgar helpline in case of any unusual situation.
DIG Sukkur Nasir Aftab said that all religious scholars and stakeholders, including on social media platforms, should play a full role in maintaining religious tolerance and prove themselves responsible citizens. He added that every possible measure will be taken to protect public life and property and to maintain law and order in Sukkur division.
