SUKKUR, Jun 01 (APP):The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) on Monday continuing its tree plantation and distribution drive in collaboration with local communities to promote a “Green Sindh” and combat climate change.
Under the initiative, SRSO teams distributed and planted saplings in Dhani Bux Gaho and Jalal u Din Khaskheli villages of Taluka Faiz Ganj, District Khairpur Mir’s.
The saplings were distributed among beneficiaries of the Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) project as part of broader environmental protection and greenery initiatives.
On the occasion, SRSO also held awareness sessions with Village Organizations (VOs) and Village Reconstruction Committees (VRCs).
During interaction with community members, detailed guidance was provided on the importance of plantation, proper plant care, regular watering, protection from animals, and the role of community participation in ensuring the campaign’s success.
Participants were encouraged to take collective responsibility for the protection and maintenance of the saplings to ensure healthy growth and long-term survival. The drive reflects SRSO’s continued efforts to engage community institutions in climate action and sustainable development across rural Sindh.
