SMIU organizes “Start-Up Summit 6.0: From Concept to Success”

KARACHI, Jun 05 (APP): The Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce Business Incubation Center of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) jointly organized the “Start-Up Summit 6.0: From Concept to Success” at the I.T. Tower of the University here Friday.
Vice Chancellor SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce, Dr. Jamshed Adil; Dean of the Faculty of I.T. Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan; Assistant Professor Shahid Obaid and other faculty members inaugurated the summit.
The Vice Chancellor visited stalls and encouraged the participating students for their innovative ideas and projects. At the summit, more than 130 aspiring entrepreneurs presented 34 innovative start-up ideas, demonstrating the creativity, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit of SMIU students. The event provided students with a platform to transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures and interact with mentors, industry experts, and fellow innovators.
The faculty members and industry experts commended the students for their innovative approaches and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in generating employment opportunities and contributing to economic growth.
Addressing the students, Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai emphasised that every successful business begins with an original idea. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to focus on developing their own creative concepts and then seek guidance, mentoring, and support from SMIU Business Incubation Centre to transform those ideas into successful enterprises. He also appreciated the faculty members, including Assistant Professor Shahid Obaid, for supporting and guiding the students to organise the summit.
The summit featured a diverse range of innovative projects and business solutions. Students showcased herbal and organic products, digital marketing and branding agencies, low-cost investment initiatives, digital platforms for cosmetics and beauty products, marketing automation tools, recruitment and human resource solutions, agriculture and soil enhancement products, healthcare devices, business management solutions, film and television-related technologies, domestic water purification solutions, environmentally friendly plastic-free products, income tax facilitation services, school-location and educational data tools, as well as food, beverage, entertainment, and recreational ventures.
The organizers stated that Start-Up Summit 6.0 reflects SMIU’s continued commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and promoting a culture of innovation. The event concluded with appreciation for all participating teams, faculty mentors, judges, and organizers whose contributions made the summit a success.
The summit reaffirmed the SMIU’s vision of producing innovative graduates, supporting entrepreneurship and contributing to sustainable economic development through education, research, and industry engagement.
