KARACHI, Aug 14 (APP): Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah along with his Cabinet members visited the mausoleum of father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the occasion of 79th Independence Day and paid tributes to the Quaid, here on Friday.
They laid a wreath at the mausoleum, offered fateha and prayed for the progress, prosperity, development and security of the country.
The Sindh Governor and Sindh Chief Minister paid rich tributes to father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his outstanding services and historic contributions to the nation.
They also inked their impressions in the visitor’s book.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister and members of the provincial cabinet welcomed the Governor Hashmi upon his arrival at Mazar-e-Quaid. Sindh Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Karachi Commissioner and other senior officials were also present.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy presented a guard of honour and salute to the Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh.
Later, they hoisted the national flag at Quaid’s premises as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
