SUKKUR, Aug 06 (APP): Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir with a seminar and solidarity rally organized by the Students’ Societies Centre, said a release issued here on Thursday.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, addressing the seminar, said August 5, 2019 marks India’s unilateral revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, which cannot change the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said durable peace in South Asia hinges on a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per UN Security Council resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiris.
Speakers including Prof. Dr. Inayatullah Bhatti, Dr. Ali Raza Lashari and Farhan Latif Memon urged the UN to ensure protection of Kashmiri rights and called on youth to promote the cause through academic and digital platforms.
A one minute silence was observed for Kashmiri martyrs. Later, a rally carrying Pakistani and Kashmiri flags adopted a resolution urging the UN to play its role for a peaceful settlement of the dispute.
Faculty, officers and a large number of students attended.
