SBA range Police arrest 3,897 suspects in three-month crackdown

HYDERABAD, Sep 08 (APP):Under the supervision of Faisal Bashir Memon, the SBA Range Police have demonstrated notable performance in maintaining law and order and taking action against criminal elements during the three-month period from June to August 2026.
According to official report issued by DIGP SBA Range Office, a total of 2,949 cases were registered across the range, with 7,794 individuals nominated and 3,897 suspects arrested during various operations. The month-wise statistics show that in June, 955 cases were registered, 2,711 individuals were nominated, and 1,287 arrests were made.
In July, 965 cases were registered, 2,636 individuals were nominated, and 1,367 arrests were carried out. In August, 1,029 cases were registered, 2,447 individuals were nominated, and 1,243 suspects were arrested.
During this period, police also conducted 79 encounters with criminal elements, resulting in the killing of two criminals, the arrest of 68 suspects, and injuries to 54 individuals. These encounters included 25 cases in June, 29 in July, and 25 in August. The police intensified action against proclaimed offenders and absconders, arresting 109 proclaimed offenders and 521 absconders over the three months.
Report said that In operations against illegal weapons, 254 cases were registered and 254 individuals were arrested. The recovered weapons included 2 Kalashnikovs, 16 shotguns, 1 rifle, 231 pistols, 2 revolvers, 1 carbine, 507 rounds of ammunition, and 61 cartridges.
Crackdowns against narcotics also yielded significant results, with 428 cases registered and 565 suspects arrested. Recovered narcotics included 0.420 kilograms of opium, 199.153 kilograms of hashish, 5.940 kilograms of ice, 203.3 kilograms of cannabis, and 4,200 liters of local wine, along with 410 pints and 165 bottles.
Action against gutka, mainpuri, mawa, and other hazardous substances resulted in 499 cases and 632 arrests. A total of 4,564.858 kilograms of such items were recovered. Additionally, property and goods worth Rs. 6,936,500 were seized, along with 58 motorcycles. DIGP Faisal Bashir Memon has directed strict and indiscriminate action against criminals, drug dealers, illegal arms holders, proclaimed offenders, and those involved in gutka and mainpuri trade.
He reiterated commitment to ensuring peace and protecting lives and property of citizens in the Shaheed Benazirabad Range, stating that operations against criminal elements would be further intensified.
