Students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam secured top positions in an inter-university quiz competition held at the varsity’s Department of Entomology under the auspices of the Entomological Society of Sindh.

HYDERABAD, Apr 21 (APP):Students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam secured top positions in an inter-university quiz competition held at the varsity’s Department of Entomology under the auspices of the Entomological Society of Sindh.
According to the SAU spokesperson, the competition brought together six teams from SAU and four teams from the University of Sindh, fostering a competitive yet intellectually stimulating environment. The event was attended by Dean Faculty of Crop Protection Prof Dr Abdul Mubeen Lodhi, Chairman Plant Pathology Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Khaskheli, Chairman Plant Protection Prof Dr Imtiaz Ahmed Nizamani, Dr Bhai Khan Solangi along with faculty members and a large number of students.
According to the results, the SAU Master’s team “Entomological Swarm”, comprising Sarmad Ali Koondhar, Aamir Ali Thebo and Arshad Ali Lashari clinched first position with an impressive performance. The Bachelor’s final-year team “Cerebrals”, comprising Hussain, Hamadullah and Makeesh, secured second position. The University of Sindh team “Firefly Thinkers”, represented by Ms Sundas and Ameen Ilyas Panhwar, finished third.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Abdul Mubeen Lodhi highlighted the importance of such academic engagements in sharpening students’ analytical abilities and aiding their preparation for examinations. Dr. Bhai Khan Solangi noted that inter-university activities promote academic collaboration, strengthen student linkages and encourage the exchange of knowledge.
The quiz was formally inaugurated by Associate Professor Dr Irfan Ahmed Gilal. Participants were tested on a wide range of subjects including Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, general knowledge, agriculture and entomology.
At the end of the event, prizes and certificates were distributed among the winning teams, while participants appreciated the initiative and expressed the hope that similar academic activities would continue in the future.
