SAU secured 748th position in UI GreenMetric World University Ranking
HYDERABAD, Sep 27 (APP): The Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, has further strengthened its position in the global sustainability landscape, securing 748th position among 2,016 universities worldwide in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, 2026.
The varsity’s spokesman informed here on Sunday that securing that position marked a substantial improvement in its performance over the past four years.
According to him, SAU had also secured 441st position among 1,252 universities in Asia, 33rd among 139 universities in Pakistan, fourth among 19 public-sector universities in Sindh and seventh among 30 public and private-sector universities in the province.
The university has further ranked third among five agricultural universities in Pakistan, he added.Vice Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal congratulated the UI GreenMetric Committee, faculty, researchers, students and administrative staff on the achievement.
He said the improved ranking was a reflection of the university community’s collective commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection and climate action.
Siyal added that the university had been pursuing a comprehensive sustainability agenda encompassing green campus development, energy efficiency, climate action, sustainable water and waste management, environmentally responsible transportation, biodiversity conservation, education and research.
The VC also appreciated contribution of the university’s UI GreenMetric Committee, comprising Prof Dr Inayatullah Rajper, Dr Ibrahim Khaskheli, Prof Dr Bachal Bhutto, Prof Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Prof Dr Mehmood Leghari and Dr Muhammad Sohail Memon.
