HYDERABAD, Aug 29 (APP): SAFCO Micro finance Company (Private) Limited (SMCL), Pakistan, has received the WOMANi Championship Award for Financial Inclusion 2026 at the WOMANi Awards 2026, held at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday.The award recognizes SAFCO’s contribution to advancing financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment and access to responsible financial services for undeserved communities in Pakistan.
The award was received on behalf of SAFCO by Dr. Muhammad Suleman G. Abro, Founder and CEO, SAFCO, at a ceremony attended by international leaders and practitioners from the financial inclusion and women’s empowerment sectors, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Women’s financial inclusion remains a key component of SAFCO’s institutional strategy.
The company currently serves approximately 165,420 active borrowers, of whom around 72% are women, representing more than 119,000 women clients.
SAFCO’s loan portfolio currently stands at approximately PKR 5.92 billion, supported by a network of 72 branches serving communities across its areas of operation.
The institution has also continued to expand its Islamic finance offering, with an Islamic portfolio of approximately PKR 700 million, providing Shariah-compliant financing options to clients.
These efforts are complemented by SAFCO’s focus on responsible and sustainable finance.
