Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), in a joint operation with Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh Police, have arrested a highly wanted Lyari gangster, allegedly involved in target killings and extortion, the Rangers spokesperson said on Thursday.

KARACHI, Apr 16 (APP): Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), in a joint operation with Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh Police, have arrested a highly wanted Lyari gangster, allegedly involved in target killings and extortion, the Rangers spokesperson said on Thursday.
Acting on intelligence-based information, the law enforcement agencies conducted a raid in the Lyari area and apprehended Naeem alias “Boss”, said to be associated with the gang of Lyari-based criminals Shah Nawaz alias “Golden” and Balach Baloch.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect.
According to details, the accused had joined the gang in 2021 and was actively involved in extortion activities and the supply of weapons in the Baghdadi and Kalri areas of Lyari. He was also responsible for providing contact numbers and information of private builders and other businessmen to the gang’s ringleader for extortion purposes.
The spokesperson further said that the suspect was involved in firing incidents in cases of non-payment of extortion and, during initial interrogation, confessed to his involvement in target killings in Lyari along with his accomplices.
Describing him as a habitual offender, the Rangers spokesperson added that a First Information Report (FIR) had already been registered against him at Baghdadi Police Station. Efforts are underway to arrest his accomplices, with raids being carried out at various locations, he said.
The arrested suspect, along with the recovered weapons and ammunition, has been handed over to SIU Police for further legal proceedings.
