Promotion of healthy activities can eliminate social evils: Governor Sindh

KARACHI, Mar 31 (APP): Governor Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, stated that promoting healthy activities can help eliminate negative social behaviors, adding that increasing trade between Karachi and Houston is in the mutual interest of both cities. He expressed these views during a meeting with a five-member delegation of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association at the Governor House.
The delegation was led by President Muhammad Saeed Shaikh and included Majid Aziz, Jalaluddin, Yasar Qazi, and others. Matters related to the promotion of education, health, humanitarian services, IT, AI, and trade were discussed in detail during the meeting.
The Governor Sindh appreciated the association’s welfare initiatives and emphasized the need to further expand mutual cooperation to maximize public benefit.
On the occasion, President Muhammad Saeed Shaikh conveyed good wishes from the Mayor of Houston and presented a commemorative seal of the City of Houston to the Governor.
He informed that the association has been actively engaged in disaster management and relief activities across Pakistan, providing food, medical equipment, tents, and other essential items to those affected by floods and other calamities.
Former cricketer Jalaluddin stated that under the association, free cricket training is being provided to children, with a special focus on fitness and modern techniques. He also highlighted that scholarships are being offered to Pakistani students at the University of Houston.
