KARACHI, Apr 01 (APP):The polling for by-elections on 45 different vacant seats of various local councils across 16 districts of Sindh province will take place on May 17, 2026, said a spokesperson of the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner, Sindh on Wednesday.
He said that in accordance with the notification issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the schedule for by-elections on 45 different vacant seats of local councils across 16 districts of Sindh province has been issued.
These districts include Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Matiari, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Ghotki, Khairpur, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Shikarpur.
According to the schedule, Returning Officers will issue public notices on April 2, and nomination papers will be filed from April 6 to 8.
The scrutiny of nomination papers of the candidates will take place from April 13 to 15.
The preliminary list of candidates will be issued on April 16, while candidates may withdraw their nomination papers until April 30.
The final list of candidates will be published on May 4, and they will be allotted election symbols. Polling will take place on May 17, in accordance with the schedule.
