Police nab key member of motorcycle theft, robbery Gang, recovered five stolen motorcycles

SUKKUR, Aug 11 (APP):Shikarpur Police have arrested an alleged key member of a motorcycle theft and robbery gang and recovered five stolen motorcycles, a battery and a mobile phone during a targeted operation.

According to police spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the directives of SSP Shikarpur Mohammad Kaleem as part of an ongoing crackdown against motorcycle thieves and robbers operating in the district.

According to police, the action was conducted near Hajanah Link Road under the supervision of ASP City Mohammad Asif, while Lakhi Dar Police Station SHO Bilal Laghari, along with his police team, took part in the operation.

During the action, police arrested an active member of a gang allegedly involved in stealing and snatching motorcycles.

The arrested suspect was identified as Wahid Bakhsh Ghnewo. Further investigation is currently underway.

Police said that five stolen motorcycles, a battery and a mobile phone were recovered from the suspect’s possession.

The recovered motorcycles had allegedly been stolen or snatched from different areas of Shikarpur city.

The recovered motorcycles were handed over to their respective owners, including Akbar Phor, Yasir and Sameer Adeel, while the recovered battery was handed over to journalist Imran Soomro and the mobile phone to Hammad Abbasi.

Police said the arrested suspect and his accomplices allegedly targeted motorcycles belonging to citizens visiting homes, shops, mosques and schools.

SSP Mohammad Kaleem said that efforts were underway to apprehend the other members of the motorcycle theft and robbery gang and bring them to justice.

The SSP also praised the police team for its successful operation and commended the officers and personnel involved for their efforts against criminal elements in the district.
