Over 150 persons with disabilities receive auxiliary instruments in Shahdadpur

More than 150 persons with disabilities (PWDs) were provided assistive devices at a distribution ceremony held in Shahdadpur, district Sanghar, organised through a joint initiative of the Sindh Green Foundation (SGF) and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh.

SANGHAR, Jun 17 (APP): More than 150 persons with disabilities (PWDs) were provided assistive devices at a distribution ceremony held in Shahdadpur, district Sanghar, organised through a joint initiative of the Sindh Green Foundation (SGF) and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh.
The beneficiaries, including men, women and children, received wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aids, crutches, elbow sticks and walkers aimed at improving mobility, independence and quality of life.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Shahdadpur Qamaruddin Rahpoto, PPP district leader Dada Sher Muhammad Dero, DEPD Regional Director Nisar Ahmed Brohi, Chief Municipal Officer Sanghar Abdul Hafeez Jamali, Additional Director Social Welfare Department Shafqat Solangi, Assistant Director Social Welfare Department Zahid Rind, Women Development Department representative Sajid Sadar, and Sindh Green Foundation founder Noor Muhammad Mangi, along with officials, civil society members and community representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants highlighted the importance of rehabilitation, empowerment and social inclusion of persons with disabilities. They stressed the need for sustained collective efforts to ensure equal opportunities, accessibility and dignity for PWDs.
At the conclusion of the event, speakers appreciated the initiatives of SGF and DEPD and urged continued efforts to expand such programmes for greater inclusion and support of persons with disabilities across society.
