Mayor of Karachi, K-Electric CEO discuss affordable, green energy

KARACHI, May 02 (APP):Mayor of Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab met with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of K-Electric Syed Taha at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office, where detailed discussions were held on electricity transmission, affordable energy, and solar projects in the city.
The Mayor welcomed the K-Electric delegation and emphasized that effective coordination between institutions is essential to ensure a stable power supply in the city.
During the meeting, various matters related to improving the electricity transmission system and the establishment of solar parks were discussed.
Murtaza Wahab stated that K-Electric not only supplies electricity to Karachi but also to certain parts of Balochistan, which is a significant responsibility. He stressed that KMC and the Karachi Water Corporation are fully prepared to extend all possible cooperation in projects aimed at generating and supplying affordable electricity.
The Mayor further said that KMC is also ready to provide land for the establishment of charging stations for electric bikes and vehicles. He added that transitioning towards green and clean energy is the need of the hour to align the city with modern requirements.
The meeting was also attended by Haris Jameel and other officials of K-Electric, while both sides agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation in the future.
