Mayor Karachi orders immediate action on citizens’ complaints raised at E-Kachery

KARACHI, Sep 28 (APP): Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has launched an E-Kachehri (online public hearing) to provide prompt solutions to citizens’ problems and hear their complaints directly.
During the first E-Kachehri held on Monday, citizens from different parts of the city contacted the Mayor Karachi directly and apprised him of issues related to cleanliness, road repairs, water and sewerage, and other municipal matters.
The Mayor Karachi issued immediate directives to the relevant departments and officials on the complaints received and instructed them to resolve the issues without delay so that citizens could be provided relief at the earliest.
The E-Kachehri continued from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., during which a large number of citizens had the opportunity to contact the Mayor Karachi directly. Citizens welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation for the move.
The complaints received from citizens included issues concerning cleanliness in various areas, damaged roads, water supply, sewerage and other municipal matters.
Taking notice of the complaints, the Mayor Karachi directed the relevant officials to ensure that there was no delay in resolving public issues and that timely relief was provided to citizens.
The Mayor Karachi also directed the concerned departments to keep citizens informed about the progress made on their complaints along with taking action on them, so that the process of resolving grievances could be made more effective and transparent.
It may be noted that citizens contacted 021-99216727 to register their complaints for the E-Kachehri. During the E-Kachehri, citizens also contacted 021-99215125 and 021-99215126.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the purpose of the E-Kachehri was to provide citizens with direct access for the resolution of municipal issues and ensure immediate relief.
He said that directives had been issued to resolve problems that could be addressed on the spot, while every possible effort would be made to resolve other urgent matters within 24 hours.
