KARACHI, Jun 20 (APP):The Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA) held a Seminar on ‘US Iran Relations and Israel’s Escalation in Lebanon’ at its library here on Saturday.
       The main speakers of the seminar were Ambassador Javid Husain, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the Netherlands, South Korea and Iran, and former Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Pakistan, Ambassador Qazi M. Khalilullah, Executive Director, Centre for International Strategic Studies Sindh (CISSS), Karachi, and former Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, Cuba and Myanmar and Asif Ali, Researcher, The Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, Karachi.
     The Speakers said that the news of Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was good for all the countries of the world except Israel.
     While congratulating the participants of the MoU, they said that Pakistan’s role of meditation is a milestone.
     They said that the conflict triggered on February 28 and surprised the world.
     The Speakers highlighted that the attacks were a blatant violation of UN chart.
     They said that the real purpose of attacks was regime change in Iran.
     They were of the view that iranian people in spite of internal issues faced the attacks.
     Strikes could not destroy Iran’s struggle and will to retaliate, they added.
