Investment conference in China to create new opportunities for Sindh’s economy: Sharjeel

KARACHI, Oct 13 (APP): Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that an upcoming investment conference in Shanghai, China, will open new avenues for economic growth, industrial development and employment generation in Sindh.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Memon said the conference would focus on showcasing the province’s investment potential and strengthening business ties with Chinese investors to promote industrialisation and expand economic activities.
He said Sindh had significant investment opportunities in natural resources, energy, agriculture, minerals, transportation, infrastructure and industrial development. Attracting Chinese investment in these sectors would help increase the province’s productive capacity and support sustainable economic growth.
The senior minister said investment partnerships could facilitate the establishment of new industries, expansion of existing industrial units, creation of employment opportunities and growth of local businesses.
He added that the Shanghai Investment Conference aimed to introduce Sindh’s economic potential to international investors and explore new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation. Collaboration with Chinese companies could also facilitate the transfer of modern technology, industrial expertise, advanced production techniques and international business experience to the province.
Memon highlighted the potential for Chinese investment to contribute to the development of Thar’s natural resources, industrial zones and trade links, saying stronger business partnerships could help translate investment opportunities into tangible projects.
He expressed optimism that the conference would strengthen economic relations with Chinese investors and support Sindh’s efforts to attract investment, promote industrial development and generate employment opportunities across the province.
