KARACHI, Aug 18 (APP): A high-level investigation team of the Sindh Police is continuing its probe into the trader Mir Raza murder case, reviewing various aspects and possible angles of the case in light of medical reports, digital and other available evidence, proceedings of the previous investigation team, and information obtained from the family, friends and other relevant sources.
According to a Sindh Police spokesperson on Tuesday, the investigation team has so far received two post-mortem reports, one final report and three chemical analysis reports. The latest chemical analysis report was received on August 17 and is currently being subjected to a detailed, comparative and critical review.
The police said the reports were being shared with the public to an appropriate extent, keeping in view progress in the investigation and the requirements of public interest.
The review of the reports has brought certain points to light that require further clarification or reconciliation. The team is therefore obtaining necessary information from the relevant authorities and institutions for clarification and further verification of these points.
For analysis of mobile phone and smartwatch data, the team has contacted the Punjab Forensic Science Agency. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has been approached regarding matters related to digital currency, while officials of Apple have been contacted for assistance in unlocking the mobile phone.
The police said clarification of the ambiguities identified in the chemical analysis report, along with the acquisition of required information from relevant institutions and authorities, was expected to help investigators better understand different aspects of the case and establish links between the available evidence.
The investigation team is proceeding with the probe on a daily basis on the basis of available technical, digital, forensic and other reliable evidence, the spokesperson added.
