Governor welcomes Pakistani Nationals released from Somali Pirates’ Captivity at Karachi Airport

KARACHI, Oct 07 (APP): Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi welcomed Pakistani nationals Muhammad Yasin, Imran Ali and Syed Hussain Yousuf at Karachi Airport upon their return to Pakistan after being released from the captivity of Somali pirates. Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
The Governor of Sindh met the returning Pakistanis, inquired about their well-being and presented them with bouquets. Expressing solidarity with them, he said that the incident was extremely painful and that the sufferings and hardships of the affected Pakistanis were being shared as a collective national concern.
Talking to the media, Governor Sindh said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken special notice of the matter, issued necessary directives and remained continuously informed about the situation of the affected Pakistanis.
He said that no amount of money could compensate for the loss of a human life; however, the State would take all possible measures to support the affected families, particularly regarding the education, healthcare and future of their children. The Prime Minister had issued clear directions regarding residential plots and arrangements for the education, upbringing and healthcare of the children of the affected families, he added.
Governor Sindh said that the State would extend support to the affected families to the extent possible, while any financial assistance received in this regard would also be handed over to the affected persons.
Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that the provincial government had also extended full cooperation in this difficult situation. “We are not here as representatives of any political party; we are here as Pakistanis. We have come to express solidarity with our brothers and assure them that they are not alone; the entire nation stands with them,” he said.
The Governor Sindh said that the incident had once again demonstrated that a united nation could face every kind of difficult situation. He also prayed for the complete and speedy recovery of the returning Pakistanis.
