Governor Sindh calls for upholding truth, justice on international day

KARACHI, Mar 24 (APP): Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi on Tuesday said that suppressing truth does not bring peace but rather strengthens oppression, as he marked the International Day for the Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims.
In his message, the Governor said ensuring access to truth and justice for oppressed nations was a collective responsibility of the international community.
He observed that concealing facts could not alter the course of history, adding that truth ultimately prevails.
Nehal Hashmi reiterated that Pakistan would continue to raise its voice for the oppressed at every forum.
He said the day served as a tribute to those who made sacrifices in the pursuit of truth and justice, emphasising that standing by the truth was the hallmark of a civilised and just society.
The Governor underscored that protecting the dignity of victims was a foremost responsibility of the state, adding that state institutions remained committed to safeguarding human dignity.
