In his address, he emphasized the need for unity among the Muslim Ummah, promotion of knowledge and research, stronger trade relations, and collective efforts to advance global peace.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of Jamia Al-Ghazali Chancellor Mufti Abdul Rahim for bringing Islamic scholars and academic leaders together on a common platform.
He remarked that representatives of the Islamic world and distinguished scholars had gathered under one roof, making the occasion a memorable day for Karachi.
He described the gathering of academic leadership from across the Muslim world at Al-Ghazali University as the beginning of a new era, offering opportunities to bring centres of learning closer and establish new avenues of cooperation.
He also expressed the hope that Muslims would become proficient in understanding and speaking Arabic to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings.
Nehal Hashmi stated that the Holy Quran and the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) call upon Muslims to uphold unity, brotherhood, peace and love.
He stressed that the Muslim Ummah’s strength and success lie in unity and collective efforts. He added that Muslim countries must draw upon their rich intellectual heritage while advancing in modern sciences, research and technology.
The Governor underscored that education is the foundation of national progress, self-reliance and a brighter future.
He called on universities across the Muslim world to strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technology and advanced research.
He emphasized that universities must go beyond awarding degrees and prepare talented, responsible and enlightened individuals, who promote peace, tolerance and mutual respect in society.
Expressing hope for tangible outcomes from the summit, the Governor said that it could pave the way for exchanges of academic, educational and trade delegations among universities in Muslim countries.
He highlighted the potential benefits of faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects and educational partnerships for Pakistan and other Islamic nations.
He stressed that sustained efforts were needed to establish peace and eradicate poverty. Pakistan, he noted, was a peace-loving country committed to promoting peace, security and goodwill around the world. He added that, under the guidance of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the leadership of the Field Marshal, Pakistan’s armed forces were striving for peace.
Referring to the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, the Governor noted that Egypt, Türkiye and other Islamic countries were making efforts to assist the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering.

He observed that cooperation in knowledge, research, trade and education could help Muslim countries achieve new milestones of progress and prosperity.
Appreciating the Al-Ghazali University administration and the efforts of Mufti Abdul Rahim, the Governor emphasized that the summit should not remain limited to a ceremonial event but should translate into lasting academic cooperation and practical partnerships.
He reaffirmed that stronger collaboration between Pakistani universities and academic institutions across the Muslim world could create greater opportunities for education, research and development for future generations.
