HYDERABAD, Jun 08 (APP): DIG Shaheed Benazirabad Range, Faisal Bashir Memon, chaired an important meeting regarding security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. The meeting was held at DIGP Shaheed Benazirabad Range Office.
The session was attended via video link by Inspector General of Police Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, who addressed Shia scholars, organizers of religious gatherings, and license holders. DIG Faisal Bashir Memon SSPs from all three districts of the range, also participated the meeting.
The discussion focused on maintaining law and order during Muharram, security arrangements, routes of processions and gatherings, issues faced by mourners, and adherence to code of conduct.
Addressing the meeting, IGP Sindh directed all district police officers to ensure foolproof security measures and to prioritize the implementation of recommendations put forward by religious scholars.
Addressing the participants, DIG Faisal Bashir Memon said that Muharram teaches patience, tolerance, brotherhood, and sacrifice.
He emphasized that extraordinary measures would be taken across the range to ensure security of processions and gatherings.
Sensitive locations would be monitored through CCTV cameras and modern technology, while police personnel would be deployed on high alert.
He also urged religious scholars to continue their full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace, promote religious harmony, and discourage any elements that may attempt to disrupt order.
The participating scholars appreciated the personal interest shown by IGP Sindh and DIG Shaheed Benazirabad in ensuring security arrangements and assured their full cooperation.
They reiterated their commitment to observing Muharram in an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect, and unity.
DIG welcomed the suggestions of scholars and directed SSPs to personally inspect all routes of processions and gatherings.
He also instructed to coordinate with district administration and relevant departments to ensure cleanliness, street lighting, drainage, and provision of clean drinking water.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to utilize all available resources to maintain peace and security, safeguard the lives and property of mourners, and promote religious harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram.
